Durrës, a new modern parking lot will soon be available to the city

A modern multifunctional parking lot is being built in Durrës to serve the citizens, especially in the tourist season, when Durrës experiences the most traffic. To inspect the works, Prime Minister Edi Rama was present at the construction site, accompanied by the mayor of Durres, Emiriana Sako, and the director of the Albanian Development Fund, Dritan Agolli.

“It is a project located in a very good position, very close to the city. Durrës has an increase in traffic flow during the tourist season and a major need for parking spaces, and we think that with this project, upon its completion, we will accommodate 400 parking spaces, having free posts for bicycles, electric chargers, offices spaces and also halls for recreational activities”, – says the mayor of Durrës.

The building will be powered by solar panels while the project is designed to function as a ramp from the entrance to the top floor. This will enable the reduction of the circulation surface. “From the technological point of view, the project will be equipped with photovoltaic panels that will create a stable energy efficiency. It is not just a parking space, but it is a space with life and vitality”, – emphasized the director of ADF, Agolli.

The facility is located in a strategic node of the city. “On the right we have the tourist port that is being built and the existing port of Durrës and on the left we have the railway where work has begun for the line Durrës – Tirana and Durrës – Airport and we think that it is a very important strategic node and this object is of great need for the city” – said Mayor Sako.

This project is expected to ease traffic in the city, especially during the summer season.
